We are an alliance of Indigenous, Afro-descendent, Internally Displaced and other nature defenders
We protect 500,000 hectares of titled, native forest including highly endangered ecosystems such as the African Montane Rainforest, Brazilian Atlantic Rainforest, Brazilian mangrove, Andean Temperate Rainforest and the African Savannah Forest.
We run 15 community reforestation and socio-environmental programmes in 5 countries: Brazil, Chile, Kenya, Nigeria and Portugal.
10 Massive Open Online Courses and guardianship training delivered to over 3,500 people in 46 countries

GWW was founded in 2018 by Nic Salazar & Kamilu Hassan Hamza.
In addition to our community led local programmes, GWW facilitates the Forest Twinning Initiative, an international climate finance alliance designed to redirect funding to 10 protected, Indigenous forests (500,000 hectares).​​​
